Cary Holladay is the author of eight books, most recently including BRIDES IN THE SKY: STORIES AND A NOVELLA and HORSE PEOPLE: STORIES. Her awards include fellowships from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the Tennessee Arts Commission, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Her story "Merry-Go-Sorry," based on the case of the West Memphis 3, was published in Alaska Quarterly Review and won an O. Henry Prize. Cary teaches at the University of Memphis and in the Low-Residency MFA program at Converse College. She is married to the writer John Bensko; they live in Memphis, TN.
